Hidden deep in Pakistan’s northern highlands, Hunza was once a remote mountain kingdom, and is believed to have inspired James Hilton’s “Shangri-La.” The region became accessible in the 1970s after the construction of the Karakoram Highway (KKH)—an engineering marvel connecting Pakistan with China along the historic Silk Route.
Our trek starts from Minapin in Nagar Valley, winding through lush summer pastures, ancient glaciers, and serene alpine meadows. This area offers a unique opportunity to experience the raw beauty of the Karakoram and the warm hospitality of its mountain communities. The journey features incredible views of Rakaposhi (7,788 m) and Diran Peak (7,266 m), offering one of the most scenic base camp treks in Pakistan.
